Happy St. Patrick's Day

It’s the wearing of the green time! St. Patrick’s Day is an official Holiday in Ireland, and celebrated all over the world, including Japan, Argentina, and the U.S. Everyone can be Irish on St. Paddy’s Day – just wear some green, do a little jig, and play an Irish song. Kimbo’s timeless CDs, Holiday Songs for All Occasions and Holiday Piggyback Songs, offer a song for all your favorite Holidays – including St. Patrick’s Day. “St. Patrick’s Day Is Here” will officially usher in a fun time for kids. Play the song while they make their “green” crafts, attend a parade, search for a lucky four-leaf clover, and eat green food! Did you know that the four leaves of the shamrock represent symbols of good luck…hope, faith, love, and happiness? Green represents the Emerald Isle because Ireland is so rich in the many shades of green of their landscape, but the original color associated with the namesake for the Holiday was blue! Who could imagine saying, the wearing of the blue?

Extra Activity Ideas

The Irish Jig is a high-energy dance you can share with your kids and get some exercise too. Kimbo’s, Folk Dance Fun makes it easy, and no partners are needed. The jig is a party favorite anytime of the year. Kimbo’s, Multicultural Bean Bag Fun, offers an activity song, “Irish Leprechaun”. Pair the musical instructions with homemade green beanbags that your little artists can decorate with elves and shamrocks, and they will improve their motor skills and balance. Then parade around the neighborhood or school yard tossing the bean bags up into the air and catching them as they march. For all those who are Irish, Erin Go Bragh. For those who aren’t, share the Holiday fun and celebrate our diverse world.
